Caribbean Stud Poker is one of the newest variations of poker available in casinos across the world. Here each player is pitted against the dealer in a heads-up hand of five cards. Most poker games are played with a 52 card deck. A majority of poker games start off with two players to the left of the dealer, putting some amount of money in the pot, prior to dealing the cards, making sure there is something to play for in each hand. This is known as ‘posting the blinds’. In most cases, the player on the left of the dealer places half of the minimum bet, known as the ‘first blind’ and the second player places full minimum bet, called the ‘second bet’. The two cards dealt to all the players face down are known as the hole cards.

Connectors and Gapped Cards in Texas Hold’em Poker

What is World Poker Tour?

The World Poker Tour was incepted by Steve Lipscomb, which is a series of poker tournaments organised all across the world. Most of these tournaments are held in US. At each of the other locations, smaller tournaments are held which lead to the main no-limit Hold’em event. The final table games are the ones that you see on TV. These WPT shows were broadcasted on TV in 2002, on Travel Channel. These were 2 hour shows on TV, showcasing 6 players in the end competing for the main prize. For the first time ever, ‘hole cams’ were used that enabled the viewers to see the cards of the players.
